What does ghostwriting look like?
As you begin thinking about hiring a ghostwriter, I know a myriad of questions have popped into your mind. What does the process look like? Should I hire someone to help? How much does it cost?
As you begin thinking about hiring a ghostwriter, I know a myriad of questions have popped into your mind. What does the process look like? Should I hire someone to help? How much does it cost?
We begin the journey with a detailed conversation to help you define your overall narrative, refine the topics and sequences, and extract the magic. During this conversation, we take a step back and nail down the details of the book we will write together. What is your purpose for writing it? Who is your main audience? How do you plan to publish? How long do you think your book should be? What themes/topics do you want to cover?
After that, we’ll set up a series of video interviews (usually about 10-12 interviews for a full-length book or 5-6 interviews for a shorter book). I’ll give you some questions and topic ideas beforehand to help guide your thoughts and make our time together most efficient. When we talk, I listen without judgment and ask additional questions to encourage you to speak about topics that will enrich the story and make a better book. I will transcribe these interviews and then use the transcriptions as I begin writing your manuscript.
Throughout the process, we will work closely together to make sure we channel your personality, wisdom, and tone on every page of your book. I am not the author of your book—think of me instead as the co-creator who will help you manifest the book you have always wanted to write. As your personal ghostwriter whose job it is to write your book, I will sensitively but firmly draw the story from your head onto the page.
I’m not a huge, factory-style ghostwriting firm that will shuffle your project to a novice writer. With me, you are not just another Internet sale but rather a real human being whom I will treat with authenticity, deep care, and respect. When you hire me, you will be working one-on-one with me for the duration of the project, which usually takes between 3-12 months. I dedicate myself to you and your story, offering boutique service and a friendship you might expect from someone who listens closely to all the ideas that have been swimming around in your mind.
While working together, I will hold you accountable and make sure you get this book done. Some of my clients tell me that they’d been thinking about writing their book for years before they contacted me. Others tried to pull their thoughts together and write it themselves but got stumped—either they didn’t have the time it takes to write an entire book, or they got overwhelmed by the writing process.
As a ghostwriter, I am the motivation for you to finally write this book you’ve always dreamed of writing. Breaking the process down into manageable steps, I will guide and cheer you on every step of the way. I listen deeply to you and help you clarify your thoughts. Ghostwriting is not just a job for me but a passion; my clients reap the benefits of that passion.
I have worked with senior executives and CEOs, digital entrepreneurs, coaches, real estate professionals, financial advisors, mothers, fathers, grandmothers, and grandfathers. My clients use their books to inspire, motivate, educate, mentor their audience, and in the case of autobiographies, memoirs, and company histories, leave a personal and professional legacy.
Many people I work with use their books to enhance their reputations and secure their place at the top of their fields. Others want to leave a lasting legacy of the life and work they’ve so dynamically lived.
I have helped dozens of clients write books on the following topics: business, leadership, wealth-building, real estate, entrepreneurship, spirituality, child development, education, self-help, autobiography/memoir, company history, motherhood, marriage, divorce, third-party reproduction, financial literacy, and meditation.
My clients often tell me that they love working with me because I am “exceptional,” “meticulous,” and “proactive.” They think my “process is amazing” and simpler than they thought it would be.
Almost every time we finish a job, my clients tell me I “exceeded expectations” and that they will certainly work with me on their next book project.
All of these words of praise make me feel pretty amazing, yes, but I can honestly say the best part of being a ghostwriter is the people I attract into my life. Every one of my clients has been an extraordinary person who has enriched my own life by telling me about theirs.
My fee starts at $50,000 for full-length book projects. Your total investment will be broken down into incremental payments over the course of the project.
Book projects typically range from 40,000-60,000 words. However, I often find that even clients who think they want to write a shorter book (“I don’t have that much to say”) realize as we begin our process of reflecting, interviewing, talking, and crafting the story that they always have 60,000 words in them.
I offer limited engagements and only take on a few clients at a time. It is my mission to provide customized, boutique service for the entire length of the project, which can take anywhere from 3-12 months.
If you have a book you want to write, please message me below and tell me more about your project: main idea, purpose for writing, and your budget. If we seem to be a good fit for working together, we can set up a Zoom chat to meet and talk more about the dream book you have in mind.
“Domini did a great job of looking at the product from a higher level and injected her experience to help me focus my message. My confidence in my manuscript has gone up exponentially after working with Domini.”
